Hi to all,
if you take out the kitchen you minimize chances of any development in this department in the future. If well managed, kitchen/bio-lab is a great space, can bring a lots of people together both in preparations and sharing the lovely results. More and more hackerspaces are doing food&beverage events, gatherings, barbeque's etc. and it strengthens the community a lot, for building the social interactions it is a great way. I consider it also a really nice ground stone for more advanced experimenting which includes many other stuff than food&beverage biotech.

Best of luck with the management, preparing a meal with "members" for the "members meeting" was really nice way how to get people together at Noisebridge in a more relaxed atmosphere before and proved working well in variety hackerspaces to my experiences later.

Sincerely from Jeju, South Korea,
