Random point of information, I was walking past NB the other day and
realized I had my key in my pocket and just tried the lock to see if my
key still worked.
I thought the lock had been changed until I futzed with it for a few
seconds and got it to open. That barrel is definitely very close to
being shot.
And as a person who has a key for no reason at all at this point, since
I am no longer a member of the space or have any real urge to be in
there, rekeying might not be a bad thing. It would prevent me from
coming in without having someone greet me (or at least buzz me in),
which is a mild loss of the utility I have in theory now. I know I am a
good actor and wouldn't going in there to crash or just make my food and
surf youtube, but I can't say that for everyone who might have a key. If
we aren't currently part of the community (If we were we would
presumably get new keys), it seems like there is no reason for us to
have access to the community space without the expectation that someone
already there would be aware of it and have the chance to greet us.
Dunno. I don't care much, I don't have a dog in the fight as far as how
the community conducts their affairs anymore.
