"It" refers to objects, not people, so pretending you have some grammatical
high-ground here is ludicrous.
Not to mention, we use "they" singularly all the time in our language, and
have since Shakespeare. Since before Shakespeare. Since *Chaucer.*
Imagine that sentence without the dehumanizing "it": "Male or female THEY
should be gone." Hardly going to destroy the English language.
