Definitely concur, the frontage road Jameco is on is pedestrian-unfriendly.

For crossing 101, there is a nice new ped (and walk-your-bike) bridge 
just north of Ralston -- but it adds 0.4 miles to the Caltrain-Jameco route.

Further down the peninsula but closer to Caltrain, HSC Electronics is a 
light-industrial but ped-friendly 0.5 mile walk from the Lawrence 
station.  HSC is a little different from Jameco, but still a fun stop 
and a good supplier, depending on what you need.
