I just spent the morning trying to get the Arduino Uno driver to work 
with Windows 8. After looking all over I found the solution. You need to 
load the driver for the Compaq Ricochet wireless USB modem and set the 
speed to 9600. When installing the driver note the COM port. You will 
need it. Just don't try using it like a modem.

I'm just trying to save people time.
