Notes on the upcoming board elections.

1. Noisebridge adopted approval voting via consensus on 2014 Jan 24

https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Meeting_Notes_2012_01_24

Summarizing Leif paraphrasing wikipedia:
> Approval voting is a single-winner voting system. The method can
> also be used to create a sorted list of winners. Each voter may vote
> for (or 'approve' of) as many of the candidates as the voter wishes.
> The winner is the candidate receiving the most votes. Each voter may
> vote for any combination of candidates and may give each candidate at
> most one vote.

2. Ballots will be created when nominations close on 2014 Feb 04
<https://noisebridge.net/wiki/Board/2014_Nominations>

3. Absentee ballots may be cast via proxy. Please contact me at this email
address if you plan to vote via proxy.

4. I would like to try to adhere to the Prêt à Voter voting system. If
this sounds interesting, and you would like to collaborate on a
Noisebridge implementation, please contact me. The system is as follows.
Ordering of candidates on the ballot is randomized and a code on the
bottom of the ballot describes the specific candidate order. Votes are
dissociated from candidate names upon casting the ballot. Ballot receipts
(code and cells checked) are posted to the wiki following the election.
Teller(s) have key(s) to interpret the ballots.

If I left something out, or this is not good sounding, or you have
questions, comments, etc.. please let me know.
