Group*



As a global leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software,
Autodesk helps people imagine, design, and create a better world. The
Autodesk Consumer Group (ACG) is a new and exciting team that is passionate
about providing powerful and fun design and visualization tools, platforms,
websites and communities that unlock the creativity in everyone.



The Personal Design and Fabrication team is seeking a skilled front end web
developer to help us build out our community and content strategy. ACG is
in the process of transforming its web presence into an attractive and
engaging hub for a vibrant user community, by improving site functionality
and performance. The current website is integrated with a powerful web
platform that provides 3D model storage, social features, fabrication and
e-commerce.



We are looking for someone who is familiar with content and community
focused websites, understands the needs of SEO and social media integration
and is also familiar with working with a database driven back-end through a
comprehensive set of APIs. Experience with modern CMS packages like Drupal
or Joomla is a big plus, as is familiarity with development frameworks like
Laravel.



Our development teams are distributed worldwide, so candidates should be
available for periodic conference calls with other team members outside
regular working hours.



*Principal Duties and Responsibilities*


   - Assess options for deploying new functionality on a website, including
   build/buy/partner considerations
   - Develop and deploy new functionality on the website around community
   and social networking
   - Work with the cloud platform team to deploy new features and functions
   on the website
   - Front end website operations, including updating content and working
   with other business stakeholders within ACG to respond to their requirements



*Requirements (experience)*


   - BS or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent
   work experience.
   - 5+ years of strong programming skills, including PHP and Javascript
   - Hands-on experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, and
   JavaScript, with JQuery expertise a basic requirement
   - Experience with highly dynamic site architectures, including community
   and user generated content.
   - Experience with common CMS systems (eg. Drupal or Joomla) and web
   development frameworks (eg. Laravel, Symphony, CodeIgniter)
   - Experience with optimizing sites for growth, particularly through SEO
   and social sharing

*Requirements (Qualitative):*


   - Strong communication skills with the ability to converse fluently with
   multiple types of audiences ranging from managers, customers, partners and
   software development personnel
   - Passion for developing robust software and writing maintainable code
   - Keen interest in new technologies and their timely adoption
   - Ability to learn large software systems quickly
   - Ability to work well in a team to deliver on team goals
   - Flexibility under changing conditions and ability to multi-task
   between projects
   - Self-directed and require minimal supervision
   - Ability to communicate with local as well as remote and international
   teams
