[Noisebridge-discuss] Whatever is happening in the darkroom is not cool

Against my better judgement, I'm e-mailing discuss@ about this to provide some 
semblance of resolution to the thread.

Tonight I plan to do-ocratically remove the door entirely from The Room That 
Is Dark. This decision is based on a number of discussions both AFK and in 
slack. As I mentioned at last night's meeting, I never assume that I'm in the 
right and only do things when I feel I've got a good handle on what consensus 
is. My interpretation of consensus right now is that closing the door, playing 
really really loud sounds, and giving really vague answers to "so what kind of 
hacking is actually going on in there?" aren't conducive to building a strong 
community vibe. I've heard multiple complaints about the situation from a 
diverse audience and would very much rather this not continue.

I also recognize that removing the door won't actually solve anything, though 
it will make the space more anti-fragile. The real solution is for myself to 
have a conversation with JC about this and convey the messages I've been 
receiving through the inter-organism communication pathway that is the 
noisebridge community.
