[Noisebridge-discuss] Some computers have different computer names on Noisebridge network

When some of my students connect to the Noisebridge network, their terminals echo a different computer name. One was “victor-pc” and another was “myshiot-pc”. It looks like their WINS NetBIOS name is being set (according to Network settings in OS X).


Can anyone explain what’s going on here? Is this harmless?
