I mentioned the problem in the #kicad irc channel (on Freenode) and they 
said they'd ping the person who runs the web server.

in the meantime, if you're running macOS you can download the latest .DMG 
file from here:

http://downloads.kicad-pcb.org/osx/

and if you're running linux, just use this script (warning, it will take a 
couple of hours to download the source code and dependancies, and compile 
everything from scratch, but you'll have the latest commit of KiCAD)
