[Noisebridge-discuss] Making a wooden hand crank

For a hand-crank, I'd guess the main issue is getting a strong connection between the axle and the crank where you will have a lot of torque. How about a connection like the image attached. Drill a hole about the size of your axle and a slot off the hole. Slip the axle on and then tighten a bolt along the end of the crank arm.
