*TLDR: We have a new massive laser cutter, please hold off using it until
we have a good safe spot in the space for it to live in.*

After a few months of working with a really nice company, we've been
graciously given (at a very steep discount) a new 100w laser cutter. We
were supposed to get it delivered yesterday, however the delivery company
messed up and we opted to have a crazy East Bay adventure involving renting
a moving truck, having the delivery company hand the crate off to us, it
getting forked and rammed into the back of the truck, then a dozen hackers
helping us unbox in the van and literally carry the laser off the truck and
onto the ground on our back. We then had to play tetris in order to get the
thing into the door and up to our floor.

Thank you to everyone who helped last night, it was great, you're help was
super appreciated.

This morning many of us spent some training and setup time with a rep from
the company that sold us the laser and we did 1 successful test cut before
needing to unplug the thing and wheel it out of the way so we can continue
the build out of the Sparkle Forge where the laser will live. There's still
a lot of work that needs to be done before we can permanently (and more
importantly safely) setup the laser.

Until we've got the thing properly setup and have put together a good
method of training and blessing Noisebridgers in the safe operation of the
laser, *we're asking people to please not use it. *It's going to be a few
weeks before we can fully finish the room and run the proper power.

If you're curious about the laser, you can find more information about it
here...
