I got an email from someone who is wanting to
visit Noisebridge with a professor writing a book on alternatives to
capitalism, with a section on hackerspaces.
Anyone want to show them Noisebridge, and answer questions for them?
Please see below for the email:

Hey Mitch - still down to give me intros to the NB and Omni Collective / Sudo Room?
It'd be great to have Erik and I check them out!
Thanks again,

Great to hear from you Mitch, and I didn't realize you were an HIR at UIUC - very cool!
Yea,
it would be great to connect with someone at Noisebridge you think
would be able to show him around and talk with him about how the space
works, its values, etc. - that's the core of what he's after.
Omni Collective / Sudo Room is a great idea too - I'd love a connection to them too if you could make one.
Thanks so much Mitch, and let me know if you need anything from my end!

Hi Nick,
I'd love to meet Erik. Unfortunately, I'll be unable to meet you
and Rose and Erik while he's in SF, since I'll be in Urbana, IL
(where I am now, as hacker in residence at the University of
Illinois).
But you should all visit Noisebridge! You should also visit The
Omni Collective in Oakland, which is a collective of collectives,
including Sudo Room hackerspace and Counter Culture Labs bio
hackerspace.
Would you like me to connect you with someone at Noisebridge to meet
you and/or someone from Sudo Room?
Best,
Mitch.

Hey Mitch,
I hope stuff is going great since we last talked!
My girlfriend Rose Broome and I are coordinating a Bay Area
visit for Erik
Olin Wright - a professor who's really into co-ops
and new economic models beyond capitalism.
He's writing a book that includes a section on hackerspaces
/ makers how they relate to these new models, and I wanted to
see if you'd be interested in meeting him and showing him
around NoiseBridge.
He's in town March 15-24 and wanted to meet with you to
discuss all of this. He's really interested in learning more
about the movement and see some hackerspaces, and I thought
you'd be a great guy for him to talk with.
He's also doing a lecture March 17 at the Red Vic in the
Haight if you'd like to come. Also, if there are any other
people / spaces you think he should see, I'd love your
suggestions.
What do you think?
