Seriously, Slack is a red herring.  It probably won't be helpful for you if
your goal is to start a new meetup.  It's more about random logistical
stuff for people who are frequently in the physical space -- so the
conversation is mostly stuff like "who's there right now?  someone needs to
sign for a delivery" and "help, we're trying to kick out this crackhead".
Not much actual planning.

For what you're looking to do, the Tuesday night meeting is almost
certainly where you want to be :)
