I also have a Nikon Coolscan IV. Current versions of Vuescan software will
drive it and make beautiful scans on any modern OS.

I don't have the stack loader so you need to sit there and pull out the old
slide and push in a new one every few minutes. Best done as a background
task while working on something else.
