[Noisebridge-discuss] Noisebridge-discuss Digest, Vol 112, Issue 4

Hi Elise,

I'm not sure if you're referring to a specific event at Noisebridge, or if you would simply like to visit. Either way, come by whenever you like! You, and everyone, are always welcome. We're open between 11am and 10pm. Ring our Noisebridge doorbell at 2169 Mission St, and someone will buzz you up and give you a tour.

Cheers,

Mitch.

I would like to attend. Weekends are best for me, as I teach in Hayward weekdays until 4 pm. I would like to learn more about the technology.

Thanks,
Elise Scher

Hi Andy,

If you can, let me know ahead of time when you'll be coming by. I'll try to arrange someone to be the to assist you and move the components to a proper area. You can text me at (650)534-2166<tel:(650)%20534-2166>

Hi,

I took the Python class at Noisebridge and continue to donate monthly even though I'm not coming there anymore. I have about $400 worth of mostly new electrical parts and components I'm not going to use that I'm willing to donate to Noisebridge. If I just come by and drop them off would that be okay? Or should I meet someone and let them be vetted. Most components are like RPI or Arduino related stuff, including PRIs, break out boards, jumpers, switches, relays, a monitor, keyboards, keypads, etc etc. Two or three shopping bags full of stuff.

So, anyone around later today if I drop by with the stuff? Or should I wait?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Ash,

I think there would be interest in your workshop at Noisebridge.

Would you be OK coming to one of our weekly Tuesday meetings? They're a really good way to introduce yourself to the Noisebridge community, to learn about Noisebridge, and gage interest in a new class/workshop/event. Our meetings are always open to everyone, always friendly, and you are always welcome. They're every Tuesday at 8pm.

Best,
Mitch.

I am interested and think this would be a great thing to work on at NB.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ash Wilson and I developed the open-source project SITCH (http://sitch.io), which is designed to detect man-in-the-middle attacks by alerting on topology changes in GSM networks.

I met some Noisebridge regulars a week or so ago at an EFF get-together and there was some interest in doing a hands-on assembly party for SITCH sensors. I'm also very interested in getting some user feedback... Until very recently, setting up the service-side was a little intimidating and I think a lot of good potential users just walked away because the setup was such an involving process.

I'm reaching out to ask permission to use the space, and to see if there's a broader interest in attending such a thing. The idea was to have everyone purchase their own parts and bring them to Noisebridge, and we would set up the environment together. Then everyone can run their own sensors at home, at Noisebridge, wherever. I've also got conference slides and other stuff I can present if there's interest.

What do you think?
