[Noisebridge-discuss] Hacking on an MLE-40 Laser

Good morning Noisebridge,

My name is Clint and I'm hacking on a MLE-40 laser.  From your wiki, I
understand your space has/had one of these machines.

I'm currently in the process of setting up a GRBL+Laserweb motion
controller and interface for my machine, and was wondering if anyone had
explored this at your space.

I've successfully integrated an atmega328+GRBL into the parallel port on
the MLE-40 (I can dig up the pin mappings if anyone's interested).
I did have to bypass the FullSpectrum driver boards' limit switch
circuit with my own to cut down on noise and false positives.

I'm currently hacking on GRBL's config.h file to try and define some
reasonable settings for rates, accelerations, and getting GRBL's
coordinate system to match laserwebs'.
Here's where I'm at currently:https://imgur.com/a/awAeBjM

I'll be hanging out in your IRC channel today if anyone wants to chat,
or we can run it on email if thats more typical for your space's comms.

Hopefully there's someone at #noisebridge who's hacked a bit on the
MLE-40 or GRBL who'd be interested in collaborating on this.

-Clint
