[Noisebridge-discuss] FW: Re: Does this email bounce back?

I never had issues with noisebridge mailing list before. However, something has now changed with the list. Here are one of the new rejection reports that I am receiving:

<record>
<row>
<source_ip>216.252.162.220</source_ip>
<count>2</count>
<policy_evaluated>
<disposition>reject</disposition>
<dkim>fail</dkim>
<spf>fail</spf>
</policy_evaluated>
</row>
<identifiers>
<header_from>glenjarvis.com</header_from>
</identifiers>
<auth_results>
<dkim>
<domain>glenjarvis.com</domain>
<selector>mail</selector>
<result>permerror</result>
</dkim>
<dkim>
<domain>glenjarvis.com</domain>
<selector>protonmail</selector>
<result>permerror</result>
</dkim>
<spf>
<domain>lists.noisebridge.net</domain>
<result>pass</result>
</spf>
</auth_results>
</record>
Please note that many mailing lists do break DMARC because they are resending from another mail IP (but under the original domain). By pure definition, this will fail SPF which will, therefore fail DMARC validation.

Also, if one changes the headers, thus no longer matching the signature.

After these emails, I went back and validated my DMARC, SPF and DKIM setup (even though it hasn't changed). I have 100% validation with all validators and it also passed my human review.

One can't just "resend" an email from the glenjarvis.com domain. That will look like a spoofed email and is immediate rejected. If one forwards, that's fine. But, to resend and make it look like it comes from glenjarvis.com is simply not allowed.

Kindest Regards,

Glen
P.S. I'm not on the rack list. I don't keep up with noisebridge as much these days -- I've been super busy.
