*Mother Jones* seeks a web developer with advanced JavaScript skills to help
us build interactive elements for various online projects.



*Mother Jones* is a nonprofit, independent news organization that
specializes in investigative journalism both in print and online, with a
30-plus year history of publishing groundbreaking, award-winning content.



Our website, *MotherJones.com*, has seen record increases in traffic during
2011. We are currently planning on expanding the content we offer to include
more interactive elements. We arelooking for a skilled JavaScript programmer
who can work with our front-end and our back-end web developer to develop
these new features.



Requirements:

  Advanced JavaScript programming skills

  Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS

  Experience with integrating code with a content management system



Nice-to-haves:

  Experience with the Drupal CMS

  PHP programming experience

  Mobile web/app development experience



We are looking for someone to work full time out of our downtown San
Francisco office, located two blocks from the Montgomery Street BART/Muni
station. This is a six-month position with the potential to transition to a
full-time, permanent job. *Mother Jones* has a great benefits program that
