Hey everyone,

I am looking for a Jr. System Admin to join our team. I would really like to hire someone from Noisebridge. It is a full time position in SoMA. If you know you can do the job but don't have the experience please apply anyway. I am willing to give someone a shot that might not have all the required experience. If you fall into this category here are the two things I am looking for. First is your ability to logically troubleshoot a problem. Second is that you have some experience with linux. If you know what type of files goes in the /etc directory than I think we can make the rest work.

Job Title: Junior Systems Administrator
Job Type: Full-time

Job Location: SOMA / San Francisco, CA 
Reports to: Company Management 

Job Description: 

We are looking for a current or prospective Junior Systems Administrator to join the small, highly effective information technology team. As part of our team, you will become an expert on the Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) ecosystem and will work closely with the system administrator and internal team to ensure continued delivery of our web presence. You will be responsible for delivering both internal and external technical support.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux, and Windows technical support. A working understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are highly desired. Your most important skill is your ability to creatively troubleshoot problems and find solutions, and the willingness to learn new skills to improve your ability as a system administrator. 

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain Uptime of our customer facing websites.
Provide support to company employees. 
Maintain internal company network (Windows and Linux).
Assist in upgrading network infrastructure.
Write simple web apps 
Fill in for either the web design team or system administrator as required.
On call rotation with system administrator.

Required Skills
A desire to learn and a willingness to escalate when you don't have the answer.
Solid troubleshooting methodology.
1 year Experience maintaining Linux (CentOS, RHEL, or Ubuntu)
Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, PHP , BASH)
Exposure to the LAMP or LEMP stack. 
Exposure to network technologies (DHCP, DNS, SSH, etc.)
A strong desire to improve skills and processes through constant collaboration.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
