    I'm willing to pay someone to help me learn to 
develop for AVR microcontrollers. 
    What I have: linux laptop with USB I/O, some 
experience writing X86 assembler and writing C 
programs, some experience building electronic 
circuits and systems. 
    What I want: download whatever software I need 
to work on my laptop, purchase whatever hardware I 
need to get my program to the target CPU (possibly 
a USB-to-parallel port converter? probably a EPROM 
burner, and certainly some kind of AVR hardware 
system). 
    I like to use  vi  and hope to avoid IDEs. I 
think a debugger and a software emulator are good 
things.
