Hey NB-ers,
This is my rad friend Mouse. He's looking to move to SF from the UK. He's a
really easy guy to get a long with and is ready to move here ASAP. He's in
the US visiting now until february 11th, so if there's any leads that would
like to interview him now's a good opportunity :P

Hi Meredith,

So... me: I'm a software developer, experienced across multiple
disciplines - from large corporate environments with traditional
models, through to small agile businesses writing open source code.
I've written a boat load of C++, C on multiple platforms, Perl, shell
script, TCL, PHP, raw postscript (go reverse polish notation), Erlang,
Awk, Sed and other Unix staples. I've even maintained big old COBOL
code-bases. I'm also able to go down to the bare metal, having written
code in 8086 & 68000 assembler, and played around with a couple of
embedded platforms for fun (Arduino and PIC).

I've worked throughout the software development life-cycle, from
analysis & requirements specification, through implementation to
support and maintenance.

Open source work: I'm co-project admin for Stellarium, an OpenGL
planetarium / space simulation program. I'm also VP of the Stellarium
Association - a non-profit set up to guide the project.

I wrote Gnostic - a Qt-based hetrogeneous cluster monitoring /
visualization application, and Stuff tools (a bunch of utility Perl
modules and scripts for doing useful things which I found myself
re-writing at different employers and finally clean-room re-wrote so I
could GPL them).

I'm looking for work in the bay area - something interesting and
suitable for my skill set and with visa chances. I'd consider an
internship to get a foot-hold in the place where the interesting
things are happening.

Thanks,
Mouse
