[Rack] [Noisebridge-discuss] Please help me remove a public email

I've BCCed in both the person in question making in inquiry, the person
who forwarded the requested content to be removed, and taken off
Noisebridge-discuss, because honestly you don't need to spam the
internet pointing out information you would like to deleted from it.
Keeping rack on, because I like to contradict myself.

As Jonathan pointed out, if you go to our site (

Requests" you'll find this page...

There's an email address there for such requests, but please read the
page careful before using it.

So you do understand by providing most of the email of it sounds like
this person would like to not show up under Google anymore, you've just
given 1000+ people enough information to do a quick Google search for
it, and thusly raise its ranking?

Our lists are all public, our Mailinglist wiki page says they're open to
all, and when you go to each mailing list page to get more info about
joining or an email address to post to it, it's pretty clear that public
archives are kept. If you feel like the notion of publicly archived
isn't clear enough to the point where you need to post to a list that
the list itself is public, I don't think a post like that would make it
any clearer.

I just did a search for this particular person's full name, that
sensitive post nor Noisebridge is no where on the first few pages I
flipped through, nor is their phone number as far as I can tell.

As much as I would like to have a sympathetic bone in my body regarding
things like this, I do have to point out that if you want things to be
kept private, don't push them onto the internet at all unless your using
strong encryption (and yes emailing someone your phone number counts as
putting something on the internet).

Secondly, if this person (whom I'm assuming has read up this far and
should continue reading for a new entertaining development) finds their
phone number to be "sensitive information" I imagine their home address
would be just as equally sensitive. Both of these items (including an
email address) come up through a simple public whois look up on their
domain which is the first result when Googling for their full name (and
if you're still reading this, I'm pretty sure I've been within eye shot
of your home while getting lost with some friends attempting to find a
number of art projects on a particularly frosty lake a pair of years ago).

So not to be extravagantly rude here or anything, but I would recommend
making sure you yourself are not leaking out any private sensative
information you don't want to be seen public first, before asking others
to rewrite history.
