following is purely theoretical discussion. Ignore as you please, but 
please don't attack me with hostility, that would be un-excellent.

i approach web-design for usability and convenience. if that be labelled 
"dictatorial", then putting words on a web-page is dictatorial, putting 
up a web-page at all is dictatorial, putting an on-switch in an 
automobile is dictatorial (rather than "allowing" users the "freedom" to 
hotwire it every time they want to go for a drive).

i think peeps are conflating convenience with dictatorship.

but, since the gears of production are accessible only to the few at nb, 
and i'm not one of the few, then the few can dictate in what direction 
those gear shall turn, and how fast. i'm not allowed the freedom to DIY, 
in this case.

and i accept that cheerfully, nb will be what nb will be.
