There is no real reason we need to have any switches at the router. The only reason we did was to split out Sonic to bikeshed and Minotaur. If we have any dumb switch, it could be in the locked rack.
Then the whole network distribution could be unmanaged. However, loop guard would be nice. I've seen loops cabled in to the distribution before (lol).
Rubin, if you want to replace Susan with a smaller rack / construction, go for it. It's a fine idea. The only thing to be aware of is the UPS, which weighs maybe 25 kgs. Everything else is lightweight and fabless.
