I am ordering some of this conductive ribbon, suitable for all kinds of
wearable electronics. The ribbon is manufactured by Offray, a major
trim manufacturer. It's polyester with three stranded leads of "tinsel"
woven in (not sure what tinsel is made of). I got my hands on a sample
set of various conductive ribbons a little while back and this one was
the best of the bunch. I've soldered it successfully but have not tried
washing it yet.

This is the stuff: http://www.fabrick.it/ribbon/ribbon/

Fabrickit carries it at $4.95/yd and will cut it to length for you.
Sparkfun also carries it but only in one-yard precut pieces, also at
$4.95/yd.

Datasheet:

I have found a price of $4.00/yd for 200+ yards. I can comfortably use
80yd and would be willing to buy 100, and I'm hoping other people would
want some to bring it up to the 200 yd total.

If you are interested, let me know ASAP how much you want and I will
order as soon as we have enough of it spoken for. Email me directly at

Feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who might want some!
