How much data is it? Is the technical difficulty of making it public due to
it being a mass amount of data?

If so, the people at Galaxy Zoo have already built and launched their
Zooniverse platform (which can also hook into Google Sky) to help that exact
situation. They're already helping out various missions at NASA (e.g.
they'll soon launch Moon Zoo, via working with NASA's Lunar Science
Institute, by hosting the huge amounts of data/images coming from the LRO's
camera and will experiment with it becoming a citizen science project). They
don't do any iPhone work to my knowledge, though, so that's definitely
something to still build!

If this is a potential solution, I can introduce you to the technical lead
at GZ.
