Sorry for not checking the email, I did not have access - windows.
The picture is showing a standard thing - an old floating "scoby". It
is generally created from a piesces or small particles of old scobies.
It is not mold at least as far as I know. We did not have problem wil
mold up to now at Tasbridge during last six months and niether at TSH.
To this point:
I´m quite pretty sure that the elimination of old mothers is useless
based on my experience from TSH and Tastebridge. Do not worry about
mold it is extremally rare case of contamintation. Try to keep mothers
whole because if you start to cut out the old pieces you destroy the
ecosystem as whole and the organism is weaker. My point of view is
holystic - whole functional ecosystem. It took me around three months
to create mothers as they are and you have ireversibly change them
within several hours during first class. Think by yourselfs what is
more scientific/reversible process. Do as you please but I think that
that is not the "fine" way but yes I can be wrong as anyone.
I'll respond to more later on,
Sincerely,
Frantisek
