[Tastebridge] ZiP - Noise in Print - Merry Xmas

Hey Bridgetrippers,



I've spent much of the past 36 hours working obsessive-compulsively on the
ZiP (Zine in Progress), as it is now known. The concept is evolving. Cover
image attached. I spent an absurd quantity of time selecting & tweaking the
title font. (For font geeks, it's called "DustHome" (lame name?) 85 pt; the
"zine-in-progress" subtitle is in RedRing1969 (love that font), 14 pt. I
get 'em all from www.dafont.com. If I do end up wanting to sell any of
these there could be a problem re: commercial licensing, but I'm going to
postpone worrying about that for now.)

I just posted revised info <https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Zine> on the
Wiki and am in the process of prepping the new
ConvoZine<http://convozine.com/zip>site (under construction) which
will be ZiP's online home. Today's post
includes an update on the impending Christmas feast at 2169Mish - now just
two days away! - as well as a call for submissions for a new project I
thought of last night: a mini-anthology of Noisebridgers recalling &
reflecting on how and when they first discovered Noisebridge. Further
(loose) guidelines posted on the Wiki

Initial deadline for submissions is January 15. If that deadline holds, I
will hopefully have the finished product printed by the end of January to
distribute to all contributors. I'm thinking this will be a very limited
edition, "inside" production, just for hackers by hackers, although I've
already had the thought it might grow into a larger documentation project
in the future.

Please contribute! I'm honestly intrigued to hear by what labyrinthine and
circuitous routes everyone else discovered this space. I have Occupy San
Francisco (indirectly) and Homes Not Jails to thank.

I'm going back to poring over Hackipedia and the Jargon file now......
