One more thing to add, there was a minor setback on the Shiitake spawn, but I should have spawn to you by New Years. Also if anyone happens to be down in southbay this weekend, I have a couple bags of Stipticus almost ready to fruit as well as finished Stipticus spawn (this is the glowing mushroom). Lastly, I'm starting up some Reshi in a couple weeks, which is always fun to watch grow.
I was talking to Ray and would also be interested in trying some hard stuff like growing morels or perhaps the latest mushroom I fell in love with (her looks mostly). See my picture of Calveria
Are any of you going to the Santa Cruz Fungus Fair this January (13th-15th)? I personally think it's a little better than MSSF ones I've been to the last two years because there are more people there who seem to know something about cultivation rather than only identification--which is cool because I have noticed that people good at identification are a lot more common than experienced growers of a variety of species. Anyway, if any of you want to get together to attend, let me know so we can car pool from my place across the hills.
Roger

Subject: [Tastebridge] Noisebridge Mushroom Minutes
Greetings Funladies and Fungis,
This coming Monday, Ray will be showing us how to make PF Cakes! This will be a project you can take home! Everyone who participates will have the opportunity to take home and inoculate their own cake! Please bring a 1/2 pint mason jar, if you have one! We'll gather around 7-730p for tastebridge. PF cakes will be happening around 8p or so after the meal.
Here's an update from this weeks gathering:
* Dana, the Excellent is working on the Arduino/humistat output. It seems likely we'll be able to log data and check signals via the web!
* Matthew will be bringing a webcam this week for future monitoring hack
* Alan and Matthew both gathering wood chips for the next inoculation.
* Ray is making grain spawn for Lion's Mane. We'll be making wood bags for these after the New Year!
* the Mt. Shasta mushroom forage/gathering is at the end of May!
* We're looking for plywood and foamboard to insulate the fruiting chamber as well as an old cooler to store mycelium
* We're still investigating moving the chamber. It seems possible we could place it between pole 9 and 11 on the N wall next to the other tastebridge shelves. We intend to talk to Robert, Milo, et all.
* Other chamber improvements discussed: gravity feed system to fill humidifier, passive cooling and ventillation, clean/replace plastic (when we move)
Thanks again to every one!
See you Monday!
~Matthew
PS - Alan recommends Why You Should Never Talk to the Police, so do I!
