Nathan Monson, Neato Robotics
Abstract
Nathan Monson will describe the Neato Robotics XV-11, a highly
autonomous vacuum cleaner, incorporating laser mapping. Enabling
technology will be discussed, including SLAM, path-planning, and the
low-cost laser scanner, with an emphasis on the challenges involved in
creating robust robotics systems at a consumer price point.
Biography
Nathan Monson:
is a software engineer specializing in video compression, signal
processing, and machine vision. He is the principal engineer behind
the XV-11’s vision system. Before joining Neato, he was Software
Architect at Adobe and Macromedia, focused on large scale video
collaboration systems.
