about formatting and check-summing SD cards.    Here's a helpful

Meanwhile, I have another question: what is the best way to back up an
SD card?    I could use the usual methods for backing up a Linux
filesystem, but given that SD cards are removable and have smaller
filesystems, is there a better way?   Thanks for any suggestions, as
always.
