Hi, Starmonkeys! We added a new class at 7pm Pacific on May 5, 2015 covering: Intro to Rails A beginner-friendly class on Rails basics.

This is an overview of web application development using Ruby on Rails. If you've always wanted to learn about the framework, this class is for you. We will construct a very simple web application, and in the process learn about the Model-View-Controller pattern and how it is implemented in Rails.
The only requirement for this class is that you have access to a Ruby on Rails development environment (if you want to follow along). You should be able to successfully execute the rails new command. Here is an installation guide.
Programming newbies are welcome, but you'll get more out of the class if you know a little bit of Ruby. Code Academy has some great resources to become familiar with the language.
If you are a veteran programmer but don't know much about Rails, you'll also enjoy this class. We are flexible with formatting so we'll be able to have some interesting discussions that will benefit all students.
Finally, it's our three-year anniversary! Join us at Sycamore afterwards for some celebration.
The class will take place at Noisebridge in the Church room.

May The Force Be With You!

 Best regards,
