Announcing a Noisedroid <https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Noisedroid>Revival,
Noisedroid/Nights <https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Noisedroid/Nights> of
Android Development. Thursdays, Noisebridge, starting 7:00pm.

The plan is an explicitly un-classroom-like setting, more of a shared
workspace for idea cross pollination and support. Bring what your working
on, show it off, get feedback- or just get work done a couple hours every
week out of the monotony of your primary workspace with friends.

We had some positive, fun brainstorming on the concept of a periodic Android
project show-and-tell event, in the vain of 5mof but explicitly for cool
android projects (preferably running on device). I added a very brief page
on Noisedroid/Shows <https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Noisedroid/Shows> to
perhaps particulate an event.

I'm going to send announcements to discuss and announce in about 2 hours
unless I hear any objections or vetos. In any case, Rob, Jehan and I will
be there tomorrow, look forward to seeing you!.

I'm contacting everyone who expressed an interest in the Android Meetup idea
I suggested ("Collaborative Android projects -- finding others with
complementary talents <http://www.sfandroid.org/events/16257543/>" ). I
wanted to let you know that this idea is gaining momentum, and that there
are now three of us -- Rob, Azi and Jehan -- that are working to make it
happen. The organizers of the SFAndroid meetup group (i.e. Marakana) aren't
involved in this, so we are going to do it separately, and we'll probably do
it as a regular thing.

Instead of a large number of people in a classroom-like setting with a
corporate-sponsored presenter, this is going to be smaller (under 75 people
probably), with more of a "show and tell" feel, and a whole lot more
interaction among attendees. Those who want to present will get about 5
minutes to show off what they are working on, whether it be running code,
wireframes, or whatever. (we might allow up to 10 minutes for those who have
put together a solid enough presentation) You can show off your project
(and recruit people to join it), or teach them something useful. Instead of
a Q&A following presentations, there will be plenty of time afterwards to
talk to one another directly. We'll do our best to make the best use of the
time available.

We're going to try to do something really cool with this (we have various
creative ideas we are bouncing around), and if you have ideas how to make it
better let us know. We are going to be having this at
Noisebridge<http://news.cnet.com/2300-10797_3-10001933-9.html>,
a hacker space/community in the Mission. The date of the first one is yet
to be decided, but it will probably be in about a month, and probably be on
a thursday evening.

Please let us know (email addresses below) whether you are interested, if
you want to help with planning or have ideas for it, and if you think you
might want to present. We really need to gauge interest level, so the more
you tell us the better. Also, please spread the word to other Android
developers you know.
