Hi,

This is the antenna I mentioned on today's talknet
http://www.athensarc.org/sleevedipole.asp  The design was originally
used by the Navy.  I built mine last night in under 15 minutes with some
Aluminum foil, a 5 foot fiberglass tube, some masking tape and a short
piece of coax.  I get a difference of +2 S units on N6NFI with this
antenna and a HT, from inside my garage.  BTW, please stand by for a
"completely invisible in plain sight" model of the same... !

Also I mentioned about an OM who lives on an island with no TV, no Cell
coverage and expensive landline, so uses Ham Radio primarily!  His call
is VA7PX. Google map "Mayne Island, BC" and zoom in on satellite view.
