[Darkroom] [Noisebridge-discuss] Calling All Photographers!

FWIW, I think that Wednesday night is leading, mostly because that seems to
be the night that everyone is available that also fits well into my

Timing will usually be based on desired lighting characteristics... Years
of landscape photography taught me that the most powerful variable available
to the photographer for daylight/landscape photography is time- as that
determines the position of your full-time flash. For the time being, doing
basic street photography, half hour before, to a half hour after sun sets
leads to the most aesthetically appealing (if not most creative) lighting
options, so it's a good start to get NBShooters off the ground. It's also
an interesting time to learn about the dynamic of going from direct-light to
ambient photography, and there is the greatest deltas between moment to
moment lighting, so it teaches you to be aware of your exposures and not get
caught up in 'point and shoot' mode. You as a photographer should be able
to out-think you camera.
But your camera should be able to capture your mistakes, because every
failed exposure is a potentially lost goldmine.
It's an interesting catch-22... Fun toys to play with in any case.

I'm putting together a photo-theme-scavenger hunt tomorrow... Ideally I'd
love to do a show and tell afterwards, and stick the results up on the wiki.
 Stay tuned for more details!:)
- Ozzy

Mikolaj, I would _LOVE_ to have a shooter dedicated to nothing but taking
candid pictures of befuddled, frustrated photographers... I think that's
awesome! And I'll lay down the gauntlet for myself to say, publicly, that
there is no button on any of your cameras that I cannot give a salient (if
potentially muddled by marketing buzzwords) description of.

Kelly- I'm a former school-paper photojournalist who had darkroom-duty
enough times to hate it, but if you all are discussing: Lighting Studio,
Gallery Space, and or High End @cost printing equipment, I'm _SO_ there, and
I'm sorry I didn't drop a line earlier.
