Went over to noisebridge to put together a system for the scanner unit. Met
with Race, and he furnished me with a dell dual core 32-bit laptop. I
installed ubuntu 14.04 32-bit via the iso using the usb trick here:

The laptop can trigger the old SLR cameras so this will be our typical
setup.

Will continue with the unit more soon. Electronics are in the locker. If
other users want a demo of the unit in the next two weeks consider coming
down to noisebridge after 6 pm on Tuesday or Thursday.

By the holidays the unit will be ready for large scale demo to the fungus
society in a workshop. We can hold the workshop perhaps in Jan or Feb.
Three separate training sessions may be required.
