We need a preflight checklist next to the diybs in the space. The site
could use a copy for reference as well. Let's use this thread to
brainstorm a bit.

1.
Intro. Location and reference URLs to the diybs site and nb-da group

2.
Power on. One power strip switch on the very top of the diybs machine
turns on PC, lights, and cameras.

3.
Check to make sure cameras are on during boot. Check lights. Clean platen
glass if necessary. Check action by inserting book and swiveling bookboom
handle downwards to lift boom up to glass. Note mousebutton glued onto the
handle.

4.
After boot, open terminal and navigate to the path on the desktop where the
python script for diybookscanner is (link repo here).

5.
Create working directory for your project, copy the script, cd in.

Set up your first page and pull boom.

Run the script, the cameras will startup with a order checking photo* which
you can inspect in the system gui by navigating to the folder you created
on the desktop and opening it in an image viewer, or using eog in an
additional terminal program.

*The two camera setup requires info about numbering the photos as they come
in.
Default order is usually correct. Check it and Proceed with image capture,
using the switch on the right side of the lever boom to take photos in
sequence.

Just a rough list typed by thumb outside of the Chinese consulate in SF.
Thoughts and additions?
