Norvig is pretty much canon, but I didn't really like it all that
much.  Does anyone have an opinion there?

There's also "Programming Collective Intelligence," but it's kind of
basic.  It's more focused on collaborative filtering/taste filtering
than it is on machine learning, too, which is kind of unfortunate.

Ian might also have some resources there; he's studied this way more
than I have (I just do it for a living, very little book learnin').
