Thanks again for everyone who showed up! It was a great
meeting.
I updated the notes for the meeting and included a bunch
of links, including one to the excellent online ebook that
was mentioned:

There is also a link to a great tutorial on gradient descent/conjugate
gradient
that's worth it for anyone to read.
I attached the source to the python linear regression example that was
passed
around last night. For some reason it estimates the bias weight (w0)
incorrectly,
maybe there's a bug! Let me know if you find out why. It has the following
pre-
requisites:
1) Python
2) NumPy/SciPy: http://numpy.scipy.org/
Thanks again and see you next week! It seems like we may be doing an
overview of Support Vector Machines, so gather up all the resources you
can on SVMs and let's pass them around to educate eachother.
