BCI looks very cool.  You (or someone in our group) has a copy?

You know what Research Plus costs?  Maybe we could get a few people to throw in a little bit a piece and we could buy a copy.

No, they are not giving out the hardware spec as far as I know, otherwise everyone would try to get the raw eeg and save some money instead of buying the super research version with the extra data recording tools. I think they are hoping to make a little money before it gets hacked. 

If the signal could be decrypted from the wireless dongle, it could very easily be hooked into the BCI2000 program. BCI2000, runs on windows and you have to write a little configuration file to change the sample rate, and number of electrodes... and then it works with any EEG. http://www.bci2000.org/BCI2000/Home.html I can't see why this wouldn't work unless anyone has looked into this further? BCI2000 format can readily be sucked into EEGLAB and other things which would make it pretty handy for further analysis.

Other than that, I think the Research Plus is the one to buy.

Do you know if they give the spec for interfacing to the hardware?  If so, then we can write our own software for getting the raw EEG, and the Research Standard could work for us (though, it'd be more work to write the software).  If not, then the Research Plus is the one.

The EEG is still encrypted when you get the Research Standard. You get the detection suites which are awesome, but if you want to try looking at ERP's and alpha coherence, or applying ML techniques over signals, they won't be available.

The Research Plus, gives you tools to see and record the raw EEG. In both these versions, the hardware stays the same, it's just the software you get which is different. That's about as much as I picked up.
