Reality check -- please be aware that we have a very small space, and stuff piles up very quickly.  If folks (such as Jim?) are willing to make regular runs to ACCRC and dump unused stuff (if ACCRC is willing to take it from us) then that would work out dandy.  But if stuff starts to pile up, our hacker space will become a crowded heap of not-very-usable electonic stuff.

My experience with this comes from one of my volunteer projects as a computer refurbisher (under the name of Online Policy Group, another 501(c)(3) org) -- being a very small version of ACCRC:  collecing computers and parts and putting together nice computer systems and giving them away for free to non-profit groups and low-income folks.  I'm very careful about what I accept now-a-days, since back in the early days I'd accept pretty much anything that seemed cool, and before long I had 2 huge overloaded U-Hauls full of 5000 pounds of stuff I couldn't use.  ACCRC graciously saved me by accepting the 2 huge overloaded U-Hauls full without charging me anything (they said they normally would have charged me $0.50 per pound -- no way I could have afforded that!).

Anyways, I'm all for canabalizing for parts.  It's fun.  It's cool.  And it makes for great, free parts.  But we need to be conscious of keeping our small space useable for the zillions of cool projects that we're all working on there.

One is a serial printer  multi-function Espson stylus 6600, and another is a USB multifunction printer Epson stylus  CX5200. I am sure that somebody could make them work or hack. They turn on but the printing device gives me an error. Please let me know if anyone would like to play with them or if I should take them somewhere else.D
