[Noisebridge-discuss] Slow internet access at 83c

I would like to draft a proposal around this issue for the next meeting.
Please respond to me off-list if you want to give input or tell me why
it sucks.

***Begin proposal
One of our two internet connections is selected to be for internal
non-experimental use. It will be considered not-to-be-fucked-with. I or
somebody will install on it a dd-wrt based 802.11g router with the WPA
key that everybody knows and the admin password written in sharpie on
the bottom. Maybe a tiny bit of traffic shaping. Ethernet can be added
later. Done.
The other internet connection can be used for open wifi, vpn
concentrators, hosting services, syn-flooding the pentagon, whatever
members decide. This proposal does not address how the other network(s)
can be used.
***End Proposal

This idea is based on three notions:
a) Everyone wants reliable internet at 83c for general use
b) Members should be free to tinker in ways we haven't even thought of yet.
c) Those two uses should be partitioned. This is one really simple way
to do that.
