Here are places to go for building materials, tech stuff, and maybe even
lab equipment.

* Building Resources (http://www.buildingresources.org/): pieces of
granite, maybe marble. Odd light fixtures. Locks and door handles. Doors
(for desks), windows, tile, glass block, other miscellaneous things.

* UCSF Surplus Warehouse. I'm sure that this is still around but I
haven't been there for years. (I left a message for someone.) Great
place to get furniture, sometimes lab equipment, tech stuff. Used to be
an auction format.

* UC Berkeley Surplus Warehouse. Same deal as above.

I'm still trying to get you a bunch of stuff through a friend in
property management. If I'm lucky, he'll call me back.
