[Noisebridge-discuss] linoleum feelings?

I would second the alternatives to Lino. (Bamboo in particular would  
be good and keeping with the look upstairs)

Another alternative to look at are carpet squares (which come in non- 
carpet alternatives as well) these are used in many offices and wear  
very well, are extremely flexible, easy to install and if the worst  
happens you only have to replace a single square. I think there may  
even be some options for non-static flooring for the workspace  
upstairs (rubber?)

Rubber or Cork flooring might be another option for the work area?
