While I was artist in residence at AS220, one of the resident geeks
there (Brandon) set up streaming audio on the as220.org website. He
used a really cool piece of software called Boodler which generates
wonderful industrial and ambient music automatically on its own:

I emailed Brandon about it, and he said:
"Boodler can talk directly to icecast and you might want to use it in
that configuration."
http://www.icecast.org/

He also uses MPD to create playlists.

Brandon also said that he used DarkIce, another audio streamer, but
it had lots of problems.

Anyway, this might be worthwhile if we start a streaming audio thing
for Noisebridge.

Mitch.
