Howdy!

As some of you know, I spent this past weekend at Notacon. One of the
speakers was Ed Piskor. For context, he is a cartoonist who has worked
directly with Harvey Pekar, of American Splendor fame.

Although he is himself kind of a luddite, Ed discovered 2600 magazine and
Off The Hook, and listened to the entire radio archive of the show while he
was doing work for Pekar. Because of this, he decided to write/publish his
own comic series based on the events that have happened in the hacking scene
since the 1970s.

I was lucky enough to meet him and buy copies of his comics, which he calls
WIZZYWIG. So far, two volumes have been released. Volume 1: Phreak, deals
with the stories of John Draper, Engressia, etc, and Volume 2: Hacker deals
with the Kevin Mitnick saga. I read them both on the plane coming home, and
thought they were high quality. As a result, I am donating them to
Noisebridge.

If anyone picks up a copy and enjoys it, I recommend buying your own copy,
or simply donating cash to Ed so that more volumes can come out. These books
are self-published, and I think he's a terrific artist and deserves your
support.
