Another way of looking at Pony is that it's a sandbox. It may or may not
work and there are no backups what so ever. This though doesn't stop
other users from creating backups or looking into why Pony may not be
functioning at any given time. Then again this also means that anyone
can just walk up to the machine and power cycle it when they think their
login issues can fixed with such things.
If you're (someone with a project) is looking for space to dump their
crap, the machine does have Mercurial which means any projects that are
checked into the repository are also distributed to anyone else who does
a checkout and update of that project will have a full copy.
Other then my pants, there is no security at Noisebridge.
Pony has been up and running for 44 days in a row.
