my sense is there's a default build that locates
an eating and gathering area in the east portion, a
bangum-crashum work space (for soldering, grinding,
screwing, and other messy activities) in the center,
and a thinking transfer space (for classes, huddles,
other cleanly intellectual activities) in the west
space.
andy suggests we try to put hutch-like work areas
against the outside walls and leave the center
undefined (did i get it right, andy?); i like that
idea a lot.

what's panels for the SCADA bits?

i like ass.

> What Should The Common Areas Of 2169 Look Like?
Overall Goals:
>
> [ in the west ] I want a visually uncluttered workplace free
> of distractions.
>
> [ in the east ] Art inspires creativity in me, and I think we
> should have lots of it.
>
> [ good ] I don't want it to get dirty and ghetto, because then
that creates a positive feedback loop where I start acting like
> a slob. Whatever is easy to clean works for me.
>
> [ good ] I don't want Noisebridge to look like an office because
> that sucks.
>
> [ X ]Here's what I want:
( easy to clean, not too many or much wall building or hutch building,
leave most of the space open. let's not try to be mom and dad for
each other: you wanna place to work, bring in a table and a chair. )
>
> Specific Things, Assuming No Financial Impact:

> [ good ] I would prefer plain switches for things like lights,
> doors, and intercoms.
>
> [ can be done in the future as people see fit and get inspired ] I would
> prefer fixed-function LED backlit capacitive touch panels
> for things like lights, doors, and intercoms.
