[Noisebridge-discuss] Board Member Platforms

andy's got it right. shannon said being a director
is being a fall guy if noisebridge gets sued or has
trouble with the IRS or some such. the 501(c)3 status
requires there be a board of directors (and, i believe
that they meet once or twice each year and keep
minutes).

   i have two interests:
* it's typical for groups to develop rules over time.
this is a bad thing, in the main, and should be
discouraged. to borrow a phrase from programmers' lore,
"resist the urge to codify." our lone policy to be
excellent to each other is pretty good and maybe
sufficient.
* i hope we take care of our infrastructure, including
tools and resources and some basic cleanliness. we'll
do pretty well with this if morale is okay; if things
start going to hell, probably we should buckle up and
get happy together.

other than that, my interests in noisebridge have to
do with learning stuff and getting around to doing some
things.

there's at best a dubious correlation between
popularity and competence. i looked at the list of
personages and think any of them will be fine. i think
it'd be good if we just selected one new director every
couple of months at random.
